Didn't Washington CLAIM that he had no party, but ended up siding with Hamilton on everything, leading to Jefferson's resignation?

It is my belief that there will always be political parties of some sort, just because there are always people at two drastically different places in how they view society, and then there are those in between who make the smaller parties.
