Opening Salvos

“Education is not filling a bucket but lighting a fire” William B. Yeats.

Jean Piaget

“A teacher should not be seen as a transmitter of knowledge but as a guide to a child’s exploration and discovery of the world.”

“The principal goal of education is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done.”

Mr C - if you wish to avoid the mistakes of the past you need to to understand first what those mistakes were by studying them; and if you wish to think in new directions it helps to know what the old ones are.

Your much ballyhooed barrage has turned out to be several octagenarian civil defence boys in mufti yelling 'Bang Bang Kaboom'.
